Regardless of the professional roles I’ve had in my career or what business I’ve been in, I’ve always been a student of human nature and…for some odd reason…business leadership.
I’ve seen two types of leaders in this world. Either those who are dreamers who play to their own music. Or those who are doers who simply play to the music at hand.
But I’ve noticed it’s the in-between world where dreams become reality that seems to be the mysterious, unexplainable place where all the “luck” happens.
In engineering school we called it the black box (even though this one is green).
That little green box…seemed to be either luck, timing, genius or some other distant inaccessible combination of entrepreneurial fairy dust. Some had it and others didn’t.
And that always bugged me.
So I began to reflect back my own experience, study and observation because I was convinced that whatever was in that little black (green) box…it was the BRIDGE between the dreaming and the doing.
And most entrepreneurs and small business owners were too busy either dreaming. Or doing. Sometimes both…to really stop and reflect on the matter.
And then there was the noise. All kinds of “how to’s” and shallow gambits out there that to me were charlatan’s in the world of effective business leadership.
But I believed whatever was inside that box could be discovered, learned, developed, and used! It was just a matter of looking on the inside and being honest about what I found.
That honesty was difficult.
Because I found it had to do as much with me as anything else. Just like it did for everyone else.
But a little objective self-honesty can go along way.
And it had nothing to do with luck. Not really to do with just hard work or smart work. Nothing to do with genius.

And to that was no exclusive magic…but rather sound principles about the way we live, work and lead.
And so I’ve put together in essence an entrepreneurial bridge building kit called Create Business Breakthroughs to help you build your own bridge between your dream and your tomorrow.
